What do I mean by that?

Software, web browser behavior, and coding limitations should never be an excuse for an incomplete project.

I find that, while I’m a “graphic designer” by training, having an understanding of web development tools (CSS, JS, and HTML) has made me more equipped to design for the web. Knowing the tools makes for well-designed work, and delivers it efficiently.

I get inspired by things that have soul: making music, multi-day rafting trips, vibrant color, food.

But I’m sure you get inspired by some soul, too. That’s why you have a great idea and you require a great designer. I find that my best work results from great ideas coming together. Folks who are starting a business, raising money for a cause, investing in sustainable technologies, making a knock-out salsa recipe — they all inspire me to jump in the ring and throw in my own skills and talents.

That inspiration is one of the best parts of this job.

s is for soul
